Things are about to get pretty heavy, as the drop date for the limited series Chernobyl is fast approaching. Chronicling one of the worst man-made disasters in the history of the world, you can bet that this will be a hard-hitting drama for your nerves. What is the Chernobyl TV series about? The series will be a dramatisation of the real-life events surrounding the explosion at the Chernobyl power plant in Ukraine. The blast occurred during a routine safety test in April 1986, for which safety systems were purposely switched off. The explosion resulted in the release of a devastating amount of nuclear radiation into the atmosphere. The nuclear fallout, as it can only be described, reached as far as parts of western Europe, and resulted in the deaths of 28 servicemen in the months that followed.|I don't believe this was a cheap misdirection. When Legasov arrived at Chernobyl, he knew none of the details behind the accident, only that the reactor had somehow exploded.
